WHAT IS THE CV UPDATE?

This one-day course will provide participants with practical and up to date information on the management of cardiac problems in the primary care setting. The conference will include a combination of workshops, presentations, and short snappers, as well as opportunities for the delegates and faculty to interact.

Urban and rural primary care physicians as well as internists, ER doctors, nurse and nurse practitioners, fellows, residents, medical students, and allied health professionals.

WHAT ARE THE 2026 COURSE OBJECTIVES?

After attending this conference participants will be able to:
  1. Apply current evidence on tirzepatide and cardiovascular outcomes to optimize patient management in primary care.
  2. Recognize key diagnostic and management strategies for patients with HFpEF and HFmrEF, particularly when symptoms appear subtle.
  3. Identify common congenital heart disease presentations in adults and children that require timely referral or collaborative care.
  4. Interpret ECGs and Holter monitor findings more accurately through case-based practice.
  5. Incorporate knowledge of ethnic and cultural variations into cardiovascular prevention strategies for diverse patient populations.
  6. Evaluate acute presentations such as stroke, cardiac tamponade, or dissection to facilitate rapid recognition and referral.
  7. Integrate evidence-based approaches in TAVI and cannabis-related cardiovascular risks into everyday clinical decision-making.
  8. Examine long-term cardiovascular risk reduction strategies in clinical practice.
